Knights Win 12 Events on Second Day of Wartburg Indoor Select

WAVERLY, Iowa- The Knights No. 4 ranked men's and No. 24 ranked women's track and field teams concluded the final day of the Wartburg Indoor Select. The teams earned 12 total event victories in today's action.
 
AJ Wright (200m, 60m), Daniel Zietlow (heptathlon pole vault), Tonie Torboh Jr (heptathlon high jump), Elliott Bond (long jump), Seneca Molstre (heptathlon 60m hurdles), Logan Rosas (800m), and Austin Rindels (60m hurdles) earned event wins on the men's side.
 
The heptathlon concluded with Daniel Zietlow and Mitchell Darst each finishing in the top three. Zietlow finished second with 4554 points and ranks seventh on the program's top 10 list. Darst finished third with 4466 points and ranks eighth on the program's top 10 list.
 
Adalyn Sporleder (long jump), Haley Meyer (mile), Grace Braden (60m hurdles), and Maddie Merna (3000m) earned event wins on the women's side.

FIELD EVENTS
(M) Heptathlon (Pole Vault): Daniel Zietlow put together an impressive performance and tied for first place with a 4.10m 13-5.25 mark. Mitchell Darst earned a top three finish with a 3.60m 11-9.75 mark.

(M) High Jump: Tonie Torboh Jr tied for first in the event with a 1.84m 6-0.50 mark. Jayden Maten earned a top three finish with a 1.79m 5-10.50 mark.

(W) High Jump: The Knights had two top three finishers. Ema Roberts finished in second place with a 1.62m 5-3.75 mark and Samantha Nielsen finished in third place with a 1.57m 6-1.75 mark.

(M) Long Jump: The Knights had two of the top three finishers. Elliott Bond won the event with a 6.92m 22-8.50 mark. Tonie Torboh Jr finished third with a 6.55m 21-6.00 mark.

(W) Long Jump: Adalyn Sporleder outlasted 10 other competitors to earn the event win with a 5.30m 17-4.75 mark.

(W) Triple Jump: Samantha Nielsen was the top finisher for the Knights and placed in the top five with a 10.23m-6.75 mark.

(W) Pole Vault: Jade Anderson was the only competitor for the Knights in the event. Anderson placed 15th with a 2.30m 7-6.50 mark.

(M) Shot Put: Will Evans was the top finisher for the Knights with a 12.99m 42-2.25 mark to finish 13th place.

(W) Shot Put: Addison Friedow was the lone competitor in the event for the Knights. Friedow finished sixth place with a 9.78m 32-1.00 mark.

(M) Weight Throw: Will Evans was the top Knights finisher in the event and placed 20th with a 13.71m 44-11.75 mark.

(W) Weight Throw: Lydia Kriegal (14.76m 48-5.25) and Addison Phillips (13.82m 45-4.25) led the Knights with their third and fourth place finishes, respectively.
 
RUNNING EVENTS
(M) Heptathlon (1000m): Seneca Molstre had the top time for the Knights with a time of 3:00.34 to finish second. Mitchell Darst finished in the top five with a time of 3:02.76.

(M) Heptathlon (60m Hurdles): Seneca Molstre was victorious with a time of 8.68. Daniel Zietlow finished in the top five with a time of 8.95.

(M) 3000m: Camden Kilker was the top finisher for the Knights and placed 13th with a time of 9:17.76.

(W) 3000m: Maddie Merna took first place in the event with a time of 9:54.31, which ranks seventh on the program's top 10 list.

(M) Mile: Lance Sobaski (4:07.98) finished in second place and Nathan Kinzer (4:12.61) finished in fourth place to lead the Knights in the event. Sobaski's time stands ninth on the TFRRS list for this season. Kinzer remains eighth on the program's top 10 list, but improves his time.

(W) Mile: The Knights had three of the top five finishers. Haley Meyer (5:03.41) placed first, Nadia Bowden (5:07.13) placed third, and Anna Quillin (5:10.72) placed fifth.

(M) 800m: Logan Rosas was victorious with a time of 1:54.65. Rylan Martin followed with a time of 1:55.03 to take second. Marcus Camacho ran a time of 1:56.36 to take fourth.

(W) 800m: Bethany Warren (2:19.08) led the Knights with a second place finish. Hannah Ramsey (2:19.60) placed third and Marissa Pewe (2:23.63) placed fifth.

(M) 400m: The Knights had two finishers in the top five. Alex Kerr took fourth with a time of 50.58 and Jimmy Weispfenning took fifth with a time of 50.86.

(W) 400m: JoJo Tyynismaa was the runner-up and led the Knights with a time of 57.21, which stands 19th on the TFRRS list for this season. Tyynismaa ranks ninth on the program's top 10 list.

(M) 200m: The Knights had the top two finishers in the event. AJ Wright was victorious with a time of 22.00, which ranks third on the program's top 10 list. Jimmy Weispfenning was the runner-up with a time of 22.10, which ranks fourth on the program's top 10 list.

(W) 200m: Amelia Wright and Adalyn Sporleder led the Knights with the top two times on the team. They both ran a 27.05 to finish in the top 10.

(M) 60m Hurdles: Austin Rindels (8.37) and Weston Johnson (8.46) were the top two finishers in the finals. Johnson remains ninth on the program's top 10 list, but improves his time.

(W) 60m Hurdles: The Knights had three finalists and each competitor placed in the top four in the finals. Grace Braden placed first with a time of 8.93, Aly Stahle placed third with a time of 9.39, and Caitlin Benesh placed fourth with a time of 9.40.

(M) 60m: AJ Wright won the event with a time of 6.86. David Williams finished in the top three with a time of 6.94, which ranks seventh on the program's top 10 list.

(W) 60m: The Knights had two top five finishers in the finals. Ellasa Horton was the runner-up with a time of 7.97 and Aly Stahle placed fifth with a time of 8.04.
 
RELAYS
(M) 4x400m: The Knights had two relay teams place in the top five. Kaleb Grant, Carlos Pollock, and Jordan Cleaves placed third with a time of 3:28.23. Nathan Ahern, Marcus Camacho, Rylan Martin, and Logan Rosas placed fifth with a time of 3:29.77.

(W) 4x400m: The top two relay teams for the Knights finished in second and fourth place. Lilly Bets, Lillian Olson, Paige Prazak, and Amelia Wright ran a time of 4:08.29 to take second. Nadia Bowden, Janae Hansen, Ella Johnson, and Bethany Warren ran a time of 4:13.37 to take fourth.
