BIRMINGHAM, Alabama- The Wartburg men's and women's track & field teams have concluded the first day of the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. The men's team is tied for 10th place with 6 points and the women's team is tied for 12th place with 12 points.

AJ Wright (60m Second-team) earned All-America honors on the men's side.

Grace Braden placed seventh in the pentathlon with 3570 points. Braden earns First-team All-America honors, which is her first career in the event.

(M) 5000m (Finals): The Knights were represented by two competitors.
Isaiah Hammerand earned a top 10 finish with a time of 14:22.66. Hammerand earns Second-team All-America honors, which is the first in his career.
Eli Larson finished in 14
th place with a time of 14:25.50. Larson earns Second-team All-America honors, which is the first in his career.
(M) Mile (Prelims):
Solomon Zaugg finished 15
th with a time of 4:16.06. Zaugg earns Second-team All-America honors, which is the first in his career.
(M) 800m (Prelims):
Hutton Edney finished in first place with a time of 1:51.88. Edney will advance to Saturday's finals.
(M) 200m (Prelims):
Jimmy Weispfenning placed 13
th with a time of 21.62. Weispfenning earns Second-team All-America honors, which is the first in his career.
(W) 200m (Prelims):
JoJo Tyynismaa earned a top 10 finish with a time of 24.68. Tyynismaa earns Second-team All-America honors, which is the fifth total in her career. Tyynismaa remains second on the program's top 10 list, but improves her time.
(W) 60m Hurdles (Prelims): The Knights had two competitors in the event.
JoJo Tyynismaa finished in the top five with a time of 8.57. Tyynismaa improves to second on the program's top 10 list and advances to Saturday's finals.
Grace Braden finished in 12
th place with a time of 8.75. Braden earns Second-team All-America honors, which is the third total in her career.
