Wartburg Indoor Track and Field National Qualifiers Announced

WAVERLY, Iowa- Qualifiers for the 2026 National Indoor Track and Field Championships were announced this evening. The Championships will take place on Mar 13 (Fri) - Mar 14 (Sat) at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama. 

Wartburg's Qualifiers (Men)
Triple Jump: Tonie Torboh Jr
5000m: Isaiah Hammerand, Eli Larson
3000m: Isaiah Hammerand, Lance Sobaski
Mile: Solomon Zaugg
800m: Hutton Edney
200m: Jimmy Weispfenning
60m: AJ Wright
DMR: Nathan Kinzer, Alex Kerr, Hutton Edney, Lance Sobaski
4x400m: Hutton Edney, Alex Kerr, Jimmy Weispfenning, Jeffrey Oestreicher

Pentathlon: Grace Braden
Shot Put: Abby Veld
Weight Throw: Abby Veld
200m: JoJo Tyynismaa
60m Hurdles: Grace Braden, JoJo Tyynismaa
60m: JoJo Tyynismaa
DMR: Haley Meyer, Olivia Tollari, Nadia Bowden, Maddie Merna
4x400m: JoJo Tyynismaa, Olivia Tollari, Natalie Bork, Haley Meyer

  • Sobaski is a two-time All-American in the DMR
  • Tyynismaa is a two-time All-American in the 60m hurdles
  • Meyer is a two-time All-American in the DMR
  • Edney earned All-American honors in the 800m last season
