Knights Earn Event Victories in La Crosse, Emporia, and Pella; AJ Wright Breaks Program Record in the 100m Dash

WAVERLY, Iowa- The Knights No. 5 ranked men's and No. 10 ranked women's track and field teams finished their day competing at the ESU Relays, UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge, and Dutch WeatherSaver Invitational 2.0. Today's performances by the Knights was highlighted by AJ Wright's program breaking performance in the 100m dash.
 
Ayden Buchanan (10000m), Aidan Decker (3000m steeplechase), Maddie Merna (3000m steeplechase), Nathan Ahern (1500m), Nadia Bowden (1500m), Hutton Edney (800m), Haley Meyer (800m), JoJo Tyynismaa (400m hurdles), and the men's 4x400m relay (Jeffrey Oestreicher, Cade Olson, Hutton Edney, Benjamin Roussell) earned event victories.

ESU Relays
(W) 400m Hurdles: JoJo Tyynismaa was victorious with a time of 1:00.13, which stands second on the TFRRS list for this season. Grace Braden placed fourth with a time of 1:04.42.
 
(W) 400m: Olivia Tollari was the lone competitor for the Knights and finished with a time of 58.31.
 
(M) 200m: The Knights had two finishers in the top five. AJ Wright took fourth place with a time of 21.28. Wright ranks second on the program's top 10 list and stands ninth on the TFRRS list for this season. Jimmy Weispfenning followed with a time of 21.51, which ranks fifth on the program's top 10 list.
 
(W) 200m: Olivia Tollari represented the Knights in the event and finished with a time of 25.42.
 
(W) 100m Hurdles: The Knights had two of the top three finishes in the event. Grace Braden was the runner-up with a time of 14.23, which stands eighth on the TFRRS list for this season. Braden remains fifth on the program's top 10 list, but improves her time. JoJo Tyynismaa earned a top three finish with a time of 14.26, which stands ninth on the TFRRS list for this season.
 
(M) 100m: AJ Wright broke the program record with a time of 10.42, which was previously set by Ben Frazier on Apr 11 (Sat) at the Mount Mercy Open. Additionally, Wright stands fifth on the TFFRS list for this season. Jimmy Weispfenning finished with a time of 10.54. Weispfenning ranks second on the program's top 10 list and stands ninth on the TFRRS list for this season.
 
UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge
(M) 10000m: Ayden Buchanan earned the event win with a time of 30:31.09. AJ Schermerhorn earned a top three finish with a time of 30:57.03.
 
(W) 10000m: Lydia Maas led the Knights in the event and finished with a time of 38:13.56.

Dutch WeatherSaver Invitational 2.0
(M) 3000m Steeplechase: The Knights had four of the top five finishes in the event. Aidan Decker earned the event win with a time of 9:13.49, which stands 11th on the TFRRS list for this season. Garrison Hubka earned a runner-up finish with a time of 9:18.94, which stands 19th on the TFRRS list for this season. Conner Sattler (9:20.27) earned a top three finish and Clay Warson (9:31.28) earned a top five finish.
 
(W) 3000m Steeplechase: The Knights had the top four finishes in the event. Maddie Merna was victorious with a time of 11:05.43. Merna ranks sixth on the program's top 10 list and stands 19th on the TFRRS list for this season. Bethany Warren (11:05.43) placed second, Anna Quillin (11:33.13) placed third, and Leah McDonald (11:34.56) placed fourth.
 
(M) 1500m: The Knights had four competitors finish in the top five. Nathan Ahern was victorious with a time of 3:52.42. Ahmed Aldamak (3:54.75) finished third, Solomon Zaugg (3:56.29) finished fourth, and Andrew Smith (3:56.99) finished fifth.
 
(W) 1500m: The Knights had four of the top five finishes in the event. Nadia Bowden earned the event victory with a time of 4:45.95. Meghan Zopel (4:51.28) placed second, Peyton Morey (4:53.26) placed fourth, and Ella Johnson (4:53.38) placed fifth.
 
(M) 800m: The Knights had the top three finishes in the event. Hutton Edney was victorious with a time of 1:52.46, which stands 19th on the TFRRS list for this season. Rylan Martin earned a runner-up finish with a time of 1:53.65 and Logan Rosas put together a top three performance with a time of 1:54.03.
 
(W) 800m: Haley Meyer was the event winner with a time of 2:11.26, which stands eighth on the TFFRS list for this season. Hannah Ramsey (2:15.70) placed fourth and Alyssa Blankenship (2:16.80) followed to finish in the top five.
 
(M) 400m Hurdles: Christian Timmerman was the runner-up in the event with a time of 55.73. Cade Olson was a top three finisher with a time of 57.26 and Seneca Molstre finished in the top five with a time of 57.38.
 
(M) 400m: The Knights had three top five finishers. Benjamin Roussell (50.00) finished in third place, David Williams (50.30) finished in fourth place, and Evan Richardson (50.50) finished in fifth place.
 
(W) 400m: Leah Cherry finished in fourth place to lead the Knights with a time of 59.64.
 
(M) 200m: Jordan Cleaves was the top performer for the Knights and finished fourth with a time of 21.99.
 
(W) 200m: Adalyn Sporleder earned a top five finish with a time of 25.79.
 
(M) 110m Hurdles: Austin Rindels earned a runner-up finish with a time of 14:91.
 
(W) 100m Hurdles: Jazmine Woode represented the Knights and finished with a time of 17.78.
 
(M) 100m: Jordan Cleaves earned a top five finish with a time of 10.78, which ranks 10th on the program's top 10 list.
 
(W) 100m: Anna Curtis was the top performer for the Knights and finished with a time of 12.67.
 
(M) 4x400m: The Knights had three relay teams that placed in the top five. Jeffrey Oestreicher, Cade Olson, Hutton Edney, and Benjamin Roussell earned the event victory with a time of 3:15.27. They stand 11th on the TFRRS list for this season. Evan Richardson, Nathan Ahern, Roman Levine, and Kaleb Grant finished fourth with a time of 3:22.75. Marcus Camacho, Rylan Martin, Logan Rosas, and Solomon Zaugg followed with a time of 3:31.65.
 
(W) 4x400m: The top Knights relay team was represented by Hannah Ramsey, Natalie Bork, Leah Cherry, and Haley Meyer. They earned a runner-up finish with a time of 3:50.65, which stands 14th on the TFFRS list for this season.
