Wartburg Completes the Second Day of the Drake Relays; Braden Shatters the Program Record in the Heptathlon

DES MOINES, Iowa- The Knights No. 7 ranked men's and No. 9 ranked women's track and field teams competed today at the Drake Relays. Grace Braden and Caitlin Benesh now hold the top two spots on the program's top 10 list in the heptathlon.
 
Grace Braden earned a top five finish in the heptathlon with 4827 points, which stands 11th on the TFFRS list for this season. Braden broke the program record with her performance. Caitlin Benesh finished with 4657 points, which stands 15th on the TFRRS list for this season. Benesh ranks second on the program's top 10 list.

FIELD EVENTS
(W) Heptathlon (High Jump) (University/College): Grace Braden finished with a 1.60m 5-03.00 mark and Caitlin Benesh finished with a 1.48m 4-10.25 mark.
 
(W) Heptathlon (Long Jump) (University/College): Caitlin Benesh finished with a 5.33m 17-6.00 mark and Grace Braden finished with a 5.15m 16-10.75 mark.
 
(W) Heptathlon (Javelin Throw) (University/College): Caitlin Benesh finished with a 32.82m 107-08 mark and Grace Braden finished with a 28.25m 92-08 mark.
 
(W) Heptathlon (Shot Put) (University/College): Grace Braden finished with a 10.83m 35-06.50 mark and Caitlin Benesh finished with a 10.19m 33-05.25 mark
 
RUNNING EVENTS
(W) Heptathlon (800m) (University/College): Caitlin Benesh finished with a time of 2:27.83 and Grace Braden finished with a time of 2:29.10.
 
(W) Heptathlon (200m) (University/College): Caitlin Benesh finished with a time of 26.08 and Grace Braden followed with a time of 26.17.
 
(W) Heptathlon (100m Hurdles) (University/College): Grace Braden placed fourth with a time of 14.02, which ranks second on the program's top 10 list. Additionally, Braden stands seventh on the TFRRS list for this season. Caitlin Benesh finished with a time of 15.13.
 
(M) 1500m (Unseeded): Solomon Zaugg was the lone competitor for the Knights in the event and finished with a time of 4:00.02. Zaugg ran the fifth fastest time at the Drake Relays in program history.
 
RELAYS
(M) 4x800m (College): Nathan Ahern, Logan Rosas, Hutton Edney, and Rylan Martin represented the Knights and finished in the top three with a time of 7:38.54, which ranks sixth on the program's top 10 list. They ran the third fastest time at the Drake Relays in program history.
 
(W) 4x800m (College): Haley Meyer, Hannah Ramsey, Bethany Warren, and Nadia Bowden represented the Knights. They earned a top three finish with a time of 9:13.12, which ranks sixth on the program's top 10 list. Additionally, they ran the fifth fastest time at the Drake Relays in program history.
