PELLA, Iowa- The Knights No. 10 ranked men's and No. 11 ranked women's track and field teams finished the first day of the American Rivers Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Caitlin Benesh is leading the field in the heptathlon and
Mitchell Darst is in third place in the decathlon.
Mitchell Darst (Decathlon 100m) and
Caitlin Benesh (Heptathlon 100m hurdles) earned event victories.
Following day one,
Mitchell Darst is in the top three in the decathlon with 3188 points. The decathlon will conclude tomorrow with the 100m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin throw, and 1500m.
Following day one,
Caitlin Benesh is the leader in the heptathlon with 2773 points.
Jazmine Woode (2219 points) and
Brynn Epperly (1884 points) are also representing the Knights. The heptathlon will conclude tomorrow with the long jump, javelin throw, and 800m.

(M) Decathlon (High Jump):
Mitchell Darst placed in the top three with a 1.72m 5-07.75 mark.
(M) Decathlon (Long Jump):
Mitchell Darst finished in fourth place with a 6.03m 19-09.50 mark.
(M) Decathlon (Shot Put):
Mitchell Darst took fourth in the event with a 9.32m 30-07.00 mark.
(W) Heptathlon (High Jump):
Caitlin Benesh earned a runner-up finish with a 1.51m 4-11.50 mark.
Jazmine Woode placed in the top five with a 1.45m 4-09.00 mark and
Brynn Epperly finished with a 1.27m 4-02.00 mark.
(W) Heptathlon (Shot Put):
Caitlin Benesh was a top three finisher with a 10.24m 33-07.25 mark.
Jazmine Woode finished with a 9.72m 31-10.75 mark and
Brynn Epperly finished with a 7.36m 24-01.75 mark.
RUNNING EVENTS
(M) Decathlon (400m):
Mitchell Darst was impressive in the event and finished with a time of 52.52 to take second.
(M) Decathlon (100m):
Mitchell Darst put together a dominant performance in the event and was victorious with a time of 10.88.
(W) Heptathlon (200m):
Caitlin Benesh earned a top three finish with a time of 26.42.
Brynn Epperly finished with a time of 28.67 and
Jazmine Woode followed with a time of 28.83.
(W) Heptathlon (100m Hurdles):
Caitlin Benesh won the event with a time of 15.05.
Jazmine Woode finished with a time of 17.19 and
Brynn Epperly finished with a time of 17.62.
