DUBUQUE, Iowa --- Softball traveled to Loras College for a doubleheader on Tuesday, Apr. 7 where the Knights (20-8, 5-1 A-R-C) swept the Duhawks (17-7, 0-2 A-R-C) following a 7-3 win in game one and a 6-2 victory in the nightcap.

Game one saw two-run home runs from both
Jenna Wiebenga and
Reagan Hassel to help lead the Knights past the Duhawks. In game two, six different people recorded a hit and four different people recorded an RBI for the Knights.

Wartburg's pair of freshman pitchers in
Hannah Hoefer and
Katelyn Klever are now a combined record of 15-6 in pitching decisions.

- Game One
- First Inning
- Carley Bredar led off the day with a double to the left center field gap, which allowed her to score three batters later when Jenna Wiebenga reached on an error
- Hassel stepped up to the plate with two outs and smacked a two-run home run over the outfield fence to give Wartburg an early 3-0 lead
- Loras loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the first after a single and two errors
- The Duhawks doubled to bring two runs home and make the score 3-2 before Wartburg closed the inning by forcing back-to-back groundouts
- Second Inning
- For a second-straight inning, the Knights began with a double but this time it was from Stephanie Kiefer
- Following an Alexis Larson walk and an out, Bredar hit her second double of the game to score Kiefer and move Larson to third
- Wartburg was held to just one run in the inning and led 4-2

- Hannah Hoefer and the Wartburg defense recorded three-straight hitless innings following the first and the score remained 4-2 after four innings
- Fifth Inning
- Addy Wells drew a two-out walk in the fifth that led to a two-run home run from Wiebenga that pushed the Wartburg lead to 6-2
- Sixth Inning
- Loras broke its hitless streak in the fifth inning and then used two hits and one error to bring across one run that made the score 6-3
- Seventh Inning
- Rylie Metz drew a four-pitch walk and then made her way around the basepath to third base before a groundout from Katelyn Klever allowed her to score and push the Wartburg lead to 7-3
- Lauren Dyer closed out the final frame in four batters faced to closeout a 7-3 Wartburg win

- First Inning
- Following a quiet top of the first, Loras got on the board with a solo shot
- Third Inning
- The Wartburg offense came alive in the third after Bredar and Bella Mulder each doubled to bring one score in
- Mulder made it 2-2 after scoring on a passed ball and Hassel was able to score Wells with s sacrifice flyout to push the lead to 3-1
- Loras used one hit to add one more run after a passed ball let the runner score
- Fifth Inning
- Bredar began the fifth inning with another hit before she was eventually brought home by a sacrifice flyout from Wells
- Sixth Inning
- Both Hassel and Klever singled and they were able to score following an error in right field that was forced by contact from Alexis Larson
- Seventh
- Klever allowed no hits or runs in the final two innings to help Wartburg secure a 6-2 win
