Aidan Decker and Hutton Edney Earn Event Victories at Augustana Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier

WAVERLY, Iowa- The Knights No. 6 ranked men's and women's track and field teams completed the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier. Additionally, the Knights were represented in the women's heptathlon at the Manitou Last Chance Multi.
 
Aidan Decker (3000m Steeplechase Collegiate) and Hutton Edney (800m Invite) earned event victories in tonight's action.
 
Following day one, Caitlin Benesh is in second place in the heptathlon with 2773 points. Ryann Decker is competing in the field and currently has 2378 points. The heptathlon concludes tomorrow with the long jump, javelin throw, and 800m.

Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier
(M) 3000m Steeplechase (Collegiate): Aidan Decker picked up the event win with a time of 9:04.13. Decker ranks eighth on the program's top 10 list and stands 17th on the TFRRS list for this season.
 
(W) 3000m Steeplechase (Collegiate): Maddie Merna finished in the top three with a time of 10:38.31, which stands 16th on the TFRRS list for this season. Merna remains fourth on the program's top 10 list, but improves her time. Anna Quillin finished with a time of 11:14.17, which ranks eighth on the program's top 10 list.
 
(M) 1500m (Invite): Ahmed Aldamak earned a runner-up finish with a time of 3:49.88, which ranks eighth on the program's top 10 list. Solomon Zaugg placed fourth with a time of 3:50.27.
 
(M) 800m (Invite): Hutton Edney was victorious with a time of 1:50.60. Edney improves to fifth on the program's top 10 list.
 
(W) 800m (Invite): Alyssa Blankenship was the top performer for the Knights with a time of 2:18.04.
 
Manitou Last Chance Multi
(W) Heptathlon (High Jump): Caitlin Benesh led the Knights in the event with a 1.53m 5-00.25 mark. Ryann Decker finished with a 1.47m 4-09.75 mark.
 
(W) Heptathlon (Shot Put): Caitlin Benesh earned a runner-up finish with a 10.93m 35-10.50 mark. Ryann Decker finished with a 8.88m 29-01.75 mark.
 
(W) Heptathlon (200m): Caitlin Benesh was the runner-up with a time of 26.15. Ryann Decker finished with a time of 27.86.
 
(W) Heptathlon (100m Hurdles): Caitlin Benesh placed fourth with a time of 15.77. Ryann Decker finished with a time of 16.18.
