Knights Send 22 to 2026 NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships

The Wartburg College outdoor track and field teams will send 22 student-athletes to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for May 21-23 at the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wis.

The Knights will be represented by 13 members of the men's squad and nine student-athletes from the women's team at the national meet.
 
MEN'S INDIVIDUAL ENTRIES (13 Athletes)
100m Dash: AJ Wright (10.31, 7th overall), Ben Frazier (10.42, 21st overall)
200m Dash: AJ Wright (20.84, 4th overall)
800m Run: Nathan Ahern (1:50.13, 16th overall)
5000m Run: Isaiah Hammerand (13:59.93, 4th overall), Lance Sobaski (14:07.18, 17th overall)
10000m Run: Isaiah Hammerand (29:20.48, 5th overall)
3000m Steeplechase: Lance Sobaski (8:40.85, Leads all competitors), Aidan Decker (9:04.13, 18th overall)
Javelin Throw: Trent Polley (62.15m, 16th overall)
 
MEN'S RELAYS
4x100m Relay: AJ Wright, Jordan Cleaves, Noah Schmidgall, Alex Kerr (40.26, 2nd overall)
4x400m Relay: Hutton Edney, Alex Kerr, Cade Olson, Ben Roussell (3:11.01, 9th overall)

800m Run: Haley Meyer (2:09.74, 11th overall)

400m Hurdles: JoJo Tyynismaa (59.77, 4th overall)
3000m Steeplechase: Maddie Merna (10:38.31, 17th overall)
High Jump: Ema Roberts (1.73m, 4th overall)
Shot Put: Abby Veld (13.75m, 16th overall)
Discus: Abby Veld (49.38m, 4th overall)
Heptathlon: Grace Braden (4827, 12th overall), Caitlin Benesh (4657, 20th overall)
 
WOMEN'S RELAYS
4x400m Relay: Olivia Tollari, Haley Meyer, Natalie Bork, JoJo Tyynismaa (3:43.65, Leads all competitors)
 
The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its week seven national polls on Tuesday, May 12 with both the men's and women's team improving to No. 6. 

The men's team has 171.34 total points and the women's team has 201.18 total points.
