WINONA, Minn. — The Knights defeated Saint Mary's (MN) 1-0 on Saturday, Sept. 12 to earn their first win of the season and move to 1-2-1 overall.
Tessa Poppen scored her first career goal in the first half and then Wartburg completed the shutout as
Tulla Jensen made four saves while Saint Mary's (MN) finished with 10 shots.
How It Happened
First Half
- Saint Mary's (MN) earned a corner kick and had three shots before the 35-minute mark, including a 26:46 attempt saved by Jensen.
- The Knights went in front at 36:09 when Poppen scored to make it 1-0.
- Jensen added another save at 38:25, and the Knights took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
Second Half

Claire Lienhard put the Knights' first shot of the half on frame at 55:35, but Kelsy Siercks made the save.
