WAVERLY, Iowa — The Knights used a second-half comeback led by
Claire Lienhard to force a 2-2 draw against the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
After facing a 2-0 halftime deficit, Lienhard scored twice in the second half with assists from
Athena Sheets and
Kenna Hemann to force the draw at home. Wartburg is now 4-3-2 overall, while the Blugolds move to 5-2-2 overall.

First Half

Tulla Jensen handled an early Wis.-Eau Claire push, making three saves during a 0-0 stretch that included four shots and two corner kicks from 3:01 to 9:17.
- Wis.-Eau Claire broke through at 15:31 on Emma Donovan's goal, assisted by Magnolia Millar Bruzek and Olivia Lukrafka Varassin, then went up 2-0 at 20:10 on Abby Beal's goal.
- The Knights created chances later in the half, including a C. Lienhard shot saved at 29:12 and an
Ava Gibson attempt off the woodwork at 40:54.
Second Half
- The Knights created three shots between 49:31 and 52:08, including saved attempts by Sheets and Hemann, before C. Lienhard scored from a Sheets assist at 53:34 to cut the deficit to 2-1.
- Wis.-Eau Claire followed with three shots and two corner kicks from 60:02 to 65:51, but the Knights kept the match at 2-1 before pushing back with a corner and an
Allison Smith's saved shot in the closing 15 minutes.
- C. Lienhard scored again at 80:15, this time off a Hemann assist, to tie the match 2-2.
- Wis.-Eau Claire generated four late corner kicks and had a shot saved by Jensen at 89:27, but the Knights held the score at 2-2 through the final whistle.
