WAVERLY, Iowa—The men’s soccer team (6-5-0 overall, 2-1-0 IIAC) defeated Iowa Conference opponent, Simpson (6-7-1, 3-1-0) 3-2 Saturday.

The game remained scoreless through the first half.

Junior Austin Otto (Coralville) tallied four points on the day with his two-goal effort. He scored his first at 51:33 and second just six minutes later at 57:31. Senior David Holte (Coralville) had the assist on the first goal and junior Amir Kanteravic (Waterloo) on the second.

Newcomer Kyle Sprain (Waverly) scored his first collegiate goal at 68:11 to put the Knights up 3-0. Junior Brandon Cook (Bondurant) was credited with the assist.

Jeremy Reinert scored the Storm’s first goal at 70:01 and Mitchell White scored the second goal with six minutes remaining.

The Orange and Black return to action tomorrow against non-conference opponent, Saint John’s at 4 p.m.
