WAVERLY, Iowa—The men’s soccer team narrowly fell to non-conference opponent, Saint John’s of Minnesota, 3-2 Sunday afternoon.

Junior Austin Otto (Coralville) put the Knights on the board at 4:55 with his team-best eighth goalof the season as he beat a defender 1-on-1 and the outstretched goalie. Sophomore Bob Brown (Solon) was credited with the assist.

Sophomore Phil Vermie (Cedar Rapids) put Wartburg up by two with his goal at 36:58.

This would remain the score through halftime.

An own goal put the Johnnies on the board at 52:00 before Zane Heinselman evened the score at 53:30.

Matt Carson would score the game-winner in the last five minutes of the game (85:55).

The Orange and Black return to the field Wednesday on the road against Iowa Conference opponent, Loras at 8 p.m.
