WAVERLY, Iowa—The Wartburg baseball team (7-7 overall) opens its Iowa Conference portion of its schedule this weekend when it travels to Pella, Iowa to face Central (9-3).

Central:
Three players are hitting above .400 and are led by Sam Stetzel’s .488 average. Michael Jontz and Jordan Judkins join him as the team’s leading hitters with batting averages of .462 and .432, respectively.
 
Two starting pitchers have a 0.00 ERA as Dirk Lindaman leads the pitching staff with his 16.2 innings of work. Judson McKown joins him with his spotless ERA in 14.1 innings pitched.

Freshman Blake Wilson (Bettendorf)leads the team with his .522 batting average which includes a team-best three doubles and one triple.
 
Sophomore Ryan Powers (Wheatland) is the next leading hitter (.321) and is tied for first in RBIs (10) with junior Ryan Doty (Dubuque).
 
Classmate Scott Benson (Reinbeck) leads the starting pitchers with his 1.87 ERA and is 2-2 on the mound in his 33.2 innings pitched.
