WAVERLY, Iowa—The Wartburg College baseball team (7-10 overall, 0-3 IIAC) travels to Dubuque to face the University of Dubuque (12-6, 1-2), in a weekend series. Friday, the two teams will play a nine-inning game starting at 3 p.m. and play a double-header Saturday at 1 p.m.

Dubuque:
Seven starters are averaging above .300 and are led by Spencer Kuehn’s .393 average.
Mark Hennessey leads the starting pitchers with this 4.56 ERA in 25.2 innings of work. He also has a team-best 16 strikeouts.
Last weekend, the Spartans won the nine-inning game against Coe, but dropped both games of the doubleheader to enter this weekend’s series on a two-game losing streak.
Wartburg:
Freshman Blake Wilson (Bettendorf) leads the Knights with his .517 average, which also ranks as the seventh-best average in all of Division III. He also has a team-best five doubles and one triple.
Sophomore Ryan Powers (Wheatland) is the squad’s next leading hitter (.323) and has a team-high 13 RBIs.
Junior Ryan Doty (Dubuque) leads the starting pitching staff with his 2.08 ERA and has a team-high 53 strikeouts in his 39 innings on the mound.
Last weekend, the Orange and Black had two heartbreaking losses in their Iowa Conference opener games as Central won two in walk-off fashion.
Head coach Joel Holst, is two wins shy of his 600th career win and 500th for his time at Wartburg.
