Football Travels to Face Illinois Wesleyan in NCAA First-Round Game

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg football team (8-2 overall) will travel to face No. 14 Illinois Wesleyan (9-1) Saturday, Nov. 23 in a noon game in the First-round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Knights received the Iowa Conference's automatic bid with their conference championship. The Titans received an at-large bid after finishing second in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW).

The winner of Saturday's game will face the winner of No. 6 Bethel/Saint Scholastica in the second round.

This marks the tenth appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the Orange and Black and first since 2010. Wartburg is 5-9 all-time in the NCAA postseason. The Knights advanced the furthest to the quarterfinals in 2008. This marks the seventh appearance in the postseason under head coach Rick Willis and are 4-6.

Tickets
$8.00 for Adults, $8 for Seniors and $5.00 for Students with ID, children under 2 are free. Gates will open 2 hours before game time.

Illinois Weslyan:

Devonte Jones is the team's leading rusher with 1,006 yards and eight touchdowns for the season

Rob Gallik leads the team in passing throwing a total 2,149 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Tate Musselman is the Titans leading receiver with 582 yards and nine touchdowns.

Wartburg:
Sophomore Brandon Domeyer (Manchester) leads the Knights on the ground with 673 yards and seven touchdowns.

Senior Taylor Jacobsmeir is the team's leading quarterback throwing a total 978 yards and 11 touchdowns. Logan Schrader closely follows with 945 yards and 10 touchdowns

Junior Donald Miller (Maywood, Ill.) leads in receiving with 485 yards and seven touchdowns.
