WAVERLY, Iowa-- Wartburg swept the final doubleheader of the Iowa Conference series against Loras Monday. The Knights claimed the opener, 2-0 and won the final game 11-1 in seven innings.

In the first game, freshman Tyler Mougin (Walford) hit a two-run single in the third inning. Senior Michael Schinstock (Urbandale) earned his fourth win of the season on the mound as he pitched the complete game and struck out four.

In the second game, the Orange and Black jumped to an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first which included a three-run double from junior DJ Utley (Cedar Rapids). Wartburg added two runs in the third, fourth and sixth innings.

Utley helped his own cause in the sixth inning on his two RBI double to seal the 11-1 win. He not only recorded a career-high five RBIs, but pitched the complete game and fanned a career-best four batters.

Sophomore Ryan Kemp (Keokuk) went 4-4 in the game.

Wartburg returns to the field this weekend in a conference series against Buena Vista Friday and Saturday.
