Women's Outdoor Track and Field at NCAA Championships: Saturday

Wartburg Three-Peats as National Champions
DELAWARE, Ohio-- Wartburg won its third-straight NCAA National Championship with 65 points Saturday. This marked the fifth overall outdoor title in program history and fourth in the last six year.

This was the first three-peat in NCAA National Championship women's history since 2001-03 when Wheaton College (Mass.) accomplished this. Wartburg's three consecutive wins marked just the third three-peat in NCAA Championship history: UW-Oshkosh (1995-97); Wheaton (2001-03); Wartburg (2012-14).

Senior Libbey Schubert (Fairfield) won her first individual national championship as she claimed the 200m dash in a time of 23.91. This also marked the first national championship in program history in this event. Schubert interview

Senior Tashina McAllister (Hazelton) finished as the National Runner-Up in the 400m hurdles (59.33; NEW SCHOOL RECORD). This marked her second consecutive National Runner-Up finish and second straight All-American honor in this event. McAllister interview

The 4x400m relay team of McAllister, Kayla Kregel, Kaly Adkins and Schubert finished as the National Runner-Ups with a time of 3:42.75. This was the 11th All-American finish in program history.

Senior Haddie Vawter (Union) took third in the 1500m run (4:35.55) and McAllister placed third in the 100m hurdles (14.22). Schubert also placed third in the 100m dash (11.95).

Senior Sammi Bruett (Urbandale) placed fourth in the 3000m steeplechase (10:37.61) and junior Taylor Moore (New Hampton) took fourth in the 800m run (2:09.30). This was Bruett's third consecutive All-American finish in this event.

The 4x100m relay team of Schubert, McAllister, Sarah Boraas and Erica Dynes took third (46.79). This was the ninth consecutive and overall All-American finish in program history.
