WINTER HAVEN, Fla.-- Wartburg (1-1 overall) defeated No. 9 Concordia-Chicago 10-7 Monday.

After the Cougars plated two in the top of the first, the Knights answered with four in the bottom of the frame on four consecutive singles. Concordia tied the game in the top of the third and took the 7-4 lead in the fourth.

Junior Ryan Kemp drove in two of the four runs in the seventh on his two-run double to left field. Senior DJ Utley drove in Jake Thumann and Kemp later scored on a fielder's choice to regain the 8-7 lead.

Wartburg scored its final runs in the eighth to seal the win.

Kemp went 4-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Relief pitcher Taylor Gilson picked up the win as he threw three innings and fanned as many.
