Four Home Runs Power Wartburg Past Rose-Hulman

Box Score
AUBURNDALE, Fla.-- Wartburg moved to 4-1 on the season in its 11-7 win over Rose-Hulman Friday, where four Knights hit homeruns. This was one shy of the single-game school record set against Cornell on April 2, 2010.

The Orange and Black jumped to a 4-0 lead in their first inning, which included a two-run homer from Ryan Kemp. He recorded his next RBI in his next at-bat where he drove in Robbie Anstoetter to build the lead to 5-0.

The Engineers sliced the margin to one with a three-run shot in the third. They took the 6-5 lead as they tallied three runs in the fifth.

Wartburg regained the lead at 7-6 in the bottom of the fifth on RBI singles from Jake Thumann and Tyler Willis.

Back-to-back home runs from DJ Utley and Milton Croes in the sixth made it 9-6. The Knights scored their final two runs in the eighth on a two-run homer from Blake Wilson.

Rose-Hulman scored its final run in the top of the ninth, but was not able to make up the difference to give the Orange and Black their third-straight win.

Wartburg concludes its Spring Break trip tomorrow against Roger Williams.
