#13 Baseball Travels to Face Loras

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 13 Wartburg baseball team (23-6 overall, 13-5 IIAC) travels to face Loras (14-11, 8-6) in a weekend series.

The Series
Wartburg holds the series lead at 57-34, and have won seven of the last eight.

Wartburg
Senior DJ Utley (Cedar Rapids) has a team-best .402 average and also leads the squad with nine homeruns and 34 RBIs.

Sophomore Jake Thumann (DeWitt), senior Blake Wilson (Bettendorf) and juniors Ryan Kemp (Keokuk), Milton Croes (Noord, Aruba) and Tyler Willis (Waverly) join him above .300 with averages of .393, .373, .363, .314 and .305, respectively.

Thumann has a team-high 15 doubles.

Junior Parker Bolt (Reinbeck) leads the starting pitching staff with his 2.76 ERA and sophomore Gavin Nadermann (Epworth) has six saves in relief.

As a team, the Orange and Black leads the nation in homeruns per game (1.19) and is second in homeruns (31) and Utley is fourth in both categories.

Loras
Four players are hitting above .300 as Tony Heiser has a team-best .386 average, Spencer Bonner is at .355, Nolan Ritter (.328) and Patrick Walsh (.321) round out the quad. Will Petrosky leads the pitching staff with his 5.29 ERA.
