No. 11 Wartburg to Host St. Thomas

Wartburg Hosts St. Thomas
No. 11 Wartburg (30-9 overall) hosts St. Thomas (19-13-1) Friday at 7 p.m. at the Waterloo Riverfront Stadium in a single, nine-inning game. There will not be an admission charge for the game.

The Series
St. Thomas holds the all-time lead, 2-1, but the two programs have not met since 2000.

Wartburg
Five Knights are batting above .300: sophomore Jake Thumann (DeWitt), .393; senior DJ Utley (Cedar Rapids), .381; junior Ryan Kemp (Keokuk), .368; senior Blake Wilson (Bettendorf), .366; and junior Milton Croes (Noord, Aruba), .309.

Thumann has a team-best 18 doubles while Utley leads the team with nine home runs. Kemp and Utley each have a team-high 42 RBIs.

Sophomore Max Langheinrich (Minnetonka, Minn.) is the reigning Iowa Conference pitcher of the week. The sophomore leads the starting staff with a 2.28 ERA and is 5-0.

St. Thomas
Ben Waltz leads his team with a .457 average. Six players join him above .300: Hunter Hart (.383), AJ Sayer (.381), Cory Quinlan (.361), Brady Johnson (.358), Ryan Gerber (.351) and Anthony Winters (.323).

Dominic Reed leads the pitching staff with a 3.13 ERA.
