Knights Travel to Face Storm

WAVERLY, Iowa---Wartburg baseball (7-5 overall, 0-0 IIAC) will travel to Simpson College (4-8 overall, 1-1 IIAC) for a doubleheader to mark the first conference play this season for the Knights. Games will start at 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Wartburg
Leading the Knights at the plate is Clay Henning (Plymouth, Wis.), averaging .421. Zach Hovick (Roland), Robbie Anstoetter (Farley) and Milton Croes (Noord, Aruba) are also hitting over .300, averaging .417, .333 and .314, respectively. Tanner Eckhart (Monticello, Minn.) leads the starting pitchers with 23.0 innings pitched and an ERA of 1.47.
 
Simpson
Austin Burlin is the leading hitter for the Storm with a .452 average. Hunter Hillygus and Luke Anctil also lead in hitting, averaging .448 and .393. Trevor Dudar leads the starting pitchers with a 4.50 ERA.
 
National Stat Rankings
Wartburg is ranked in the top 100 in five categories, as released by the NCAA. The team is ranked 1st in walks allowed per nine innings (1.37), 2nd in strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.67), 5th in WHIP (1.08), 11th in earned run average (2.56) and 35th in hits allowed per nine innings (8.33).
 
Individually, three Knights are ranked in the top 100 in six categories. Junior Max Langheinrigh (Minnetonka, Minn.) is ranked 25th in complete games (2) and 35th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (10.00). Classmate Taylor Gilson (Oelwein) is ranked 33rd in strikeouts per nine innings (12.09) and 35th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (10.00). Senior Parker Bolt (Reinbeck) is ranked 10th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (14.00), 23rd in walks allowed per nine innings (0.41) and 45th in WHIP (0.82).
