WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 15/20 Wartburg baseball team (28-8 overall, 21-3 IIAC) hosts Coe (15-17, 11-13) in the final regular season weekend series. The baseball Class of 2016 will be recognized prior to the second game Saturday. The Knights have solidified a spot in the IIAC Tournament next weekend with seeds to be determined after this weekend's games.

The Series
Wartburg owns the all-time series lead at 50-31. The Knights won all four regular-season games in the conference series last year, but the Kohawks won the two conference tournament meetings.

The Knights enter the weekend on a nine-game winning streak. Sophomore Clay Henning (Plymouth, Wis.) leads the team with his .385 batting average. Senior Tanner Johnson (Oak Creek, Wis.), sophomore Zach Hovick (Roland), senior Milton Croes (Noord, Aruba), junior Jacob Thumann (DeWitt), and sophomore Blake Mahoney (Des Moines) complete those above .300 at 382, .340, .333, .322, and .313, respectively.
Thumann leads the team with nine home runs, while senior Ryan Kemp (Keokuk) has a team-best 26 RBIs.
Sophomore Tanner Eckhart (Monticello, Minn.) leads the starting pitchers with a 1.43 ERA and is 3-0 in 50.1 innings pitched.
Coe
Craig Konrardy leads the team at the plate with his .395 average and three homeruns. Kevin DeLaney, Michael Redmond, Colton Knox, and Andrew Brierton round out the team above .300 at .366, .351, .323, and .302, respectively. Zach Kammin leads the pitching staff with a 3.93 ERA in 36.2 innings pitched.

Wartburg ranks in the top 100 in six national stat ranking categories, the NCAA released Tuesday. The Knights are second in ERA (2.54) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.38), third in walks allowed/nine innings (2.19), 12th in hits allowed/nine innings (7.91), 69th in stolen bases/game (1.81), and 85th in stolen bases (58).
Individually, Eckhart is 25th in ERA (1.43) and 47th in hits allowed/nine innings (6.62). Senior Parker Bolt (Reinbeck) is 85th in ERA (2.08) while Thumann is 30th in home runs (8) and 34th in home runs/game (0.25). Mahoney is 37th in stolen bases/game (.63) and 39th in stolen bases (20).
