No. 15/18 Wartburg to Host No. 22/25 Trine in Sweet Sixteen

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 15/18 Wartburg football team will host Trine Saturday at noon in the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Playoffs. Both teams enter the contest 11-0.

Wartburg
Sophomore Dylan Binion (Albany, Ill.) leads the team on the ground with 1,211 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is the 17th player in program history to achieve the 1,000 season rushing mark and first since Brandon Domeyer in 2014.

Junior quarterback Matt Sacia (Eldridge) has thrown for 2,722 yards and 30 touchdowns on the season. He has now tied the single-season record in TD passes that was set in 2014 by Logan Schrader. Sacia has finished with triple-digit passing yards in 17-straight games and in 19 of his last 20, which dates back to last season.

Sacia's top target has been senior Riley Brockway (Postville), who has 1,185 yards on 78 catches with 14 TDs.
 
Senior Rob Rottler (Greene) leads the defense with 105 total tackles.

Freshman JoJo McNair (Joliet, Ill.) and junior Peyton Imhof (Dubuque) have a team-best five interceptions.

Senior Dillon Radamaker (Greene) has a team-best 9.5 TFL.

Career Leader List Watch
Sacia ranks sixth on the program's career leader list in passing yards (5,499). His 54 passing TDs and his 413 completions are fifth-best.

Brockway' is now the all-time leader in pass receptions (176) and his 2,421 receiving yards rank third. He is also third in kick return yards (1,204) and kick returns (56).

Senior Brayton Brandt (Center Point) has made 69 PATs, which is eighth-best.

Trine
Trine won the Michigan Athletic Association Conference (MIAA) Championship to earn its trip to the NCAA Playoffs. They defeated Monmouth 63-24 in the first round to advance in the bracket. This marks Trine's fourth appearance in the NCAA Playoffs.

Quarterback Evan Wyse has thrown for 1,563 yards and 18 TDs. His top receiver is Jeffery Barnett with 36 catches for 753 yards and nine TDs.

Lamar Carswell and Wyse co-lead the team on the ground with 1,475 and 1,096 rushing yards, respectively.

As a team, the Thunder average 150 passing yards/game and 348.3 rushing yards/game.

Senior Chris McNutt (Solon) ranks 6th in punt return touchdowns (1), senior Jake Pisarik (Mount Vernon) ranks 50th in punting (38.5); Hunter Baldus (Cedar Rapids) ranks 52nd in fumbles recovered (2), and senior Griffin Brennecke (Marion) ranks 61st in yards per reception (18.58).

Rottler ranks 63rd in total tackles (9.5), and junior Peyton Imhof (Dubuque) ranks 3rd in passes defended (2.2) and 58th in interceptions per game (.5).

Sacia ranks 10th in passing efficiency (171.5), 10th in passing touchdowns (30), 12th in completion percentage (.663), 17th in points responsible for (198), 20th in yards per pass attempt (8.9), 26th in passing yards (2,722), 29th in points responsible for per game (18), 44th in passing yards per game (247.5), 54th in total offense (259.5), 56th in completions per game (18.45), and 67th in passing yards per completion (13.41).
