WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 4/13 Wartburg women's basketball team (7-0 overall) travels to compete in the UC Santa Cruz Tournament Dec. 19-20. The Knights will face host-UC Santa Cruz (2-6) Tuesday at 6 p.m. (Pacific) and California Lutheran (5-2) Wednesday at 4 p.m. (Pacific).

The Series
The Knights and the host-Banana Slugs have never previously met. The series is tied 1-1 with California Lutheran, though the teams haven't met since 2013.
Wartburg
Senior Miranda Murphy (Alleman) leads the team with 12.4 PPG, while classmate Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) follows at 11.0.
Sommer leads the team on the glass with 5.6 rebounds per game, and assists (41). Junior Emma Gerdes (Cedar Falls) has a team-best 16 steals.
