WAVERLY, Iowa-Wartburg's women's soccer team (6-3-1 overall) was defeated by St. Thomas (7-1-1), 2-1 Wednesday. 

The Tommies scored early in the first half at 3:34, but senior Morgan Neuendorf (Plainfield) would get the Knights on the board at 26:51 with her season's sixth goal. Senior Alyssa Hewitt (Clive) tallied the assist. 

In goal, senior Beth Crow (North Liberty) tallied 11 saves and the Orange and Black recored one team save. 

Wartburg held the advantages in corner kicks (6-5) and saves (12-2).

The Knights return to action on Saturday, Sept. 30 against Central at 1 p.m. in Pella.
