Baseball Travels to Face Rose Hulman, Webster

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg baseball team (7-5 overall) travels to Sauget, Ill. to face Rose Hulman (3-11) and No. 14/22 Webster (9-3) Sunday. There has been a change in the first game time. Sunday's schedule is as follows:
1 p.m. Wartburg vs. Rose Hulman
4 p.m. Wartburg vs. Webster

Wartburg
Senior Zach Hovick (Roland) leads the team at the plate with his .341 average and nine RBIs. Classmate Cody Hyler (Des Moines) joins him above .300 at .309. Hyler and senior Eric Willis (Waverly) co-lead the team with 10 runs scored.

Senior Tanner Eckhart (Monticello, Minn.) leads the starting pitching staff with an ERA of 1.12, is 2-1 on the mound, and has 23 strikeouts in 24.0 innings pitched.

Career Record Watch
Senior Blake Mahoney (Des Moines) is seventh in stolen bases (49). Classmate Clay Henning (Plymouth, Wis.) is fifth in assists (313).

Rose Hulman
Logan Cody is the team's leading hitter at .417. Luke Buehler has a 1.00 ERA in 18.0 innings pitched with 15 strikeouts.

Webster
Kyler Kent leads the team with his .469 average. Matt Mulhearn leads the starting pitchers with a 1.75 ERA, is 3-1 in 25.2 innings pitched and has 21 strikeouts.

National Stat Rankings
Wartburg ranks in the top 100 of eight statistical categories, which the NCAA released Monday.
 
The Knights rank 6th in fielding percentage (.98), 13th in walks allowed per nine innings (2.39), 14th in WHIP (1.16), 25th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.12), 47th in earned run average (3.26), 48th in hits allowed per nine innings (8.04), 92nd in double plays per game (.82), and 97th in won-lost percentage (.636).
 
Individually, three Knights rank in the top 100 of three statistical categories: Eckhart ranks 23rd in strikeout-to-walk ratio (11.5) and 75th in earned run average (1.13), senior Austin Bohling (Letts) ranks 29th in hits allowed per nine innings (4.26), and sophomore Tony Rex (Oelwein) ranks 25th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (11).
