Wartburg Hosts 2019 NCAA Central Region Cross Country Championships

WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg College is set to host the 2019 NCAA Division III Central Regional Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships this Saturday, Nov. 16 at Max Championship Cross Country Course. 

The men's 8k is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., followed by the women at noon. 

NCAA's central region features schools from North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, and Iowa. 

The men's race will feature four teams ranked in the USTFCCCA national poll, led by the No. 1 team in the region, host school and reigning champions from Wartburg. The Knights rank seventh nationally, followed by Carleton (#19), St. Thomas (#25), and St. Olaf (#26). 

Carleton women won last year's central region race, also hosted at Wartburg. Carleton ranks first in the region and sixth nationally, while Wartburg (#2 central region/#13 USTFCCCA), St. Thomas (#16), and St. Olaf (#24) are also ranked.
