THE SERIES
Saturday's game marks just the third meeting between Wartburg and UW-Whitewater. The Knights and Warhawks have met twice, both in the NCAA Quarterfinals in Whitewater, Wis. Most recently, Wartburg and then-ranked No. 1 UWW battled to a 37-33 decision in favor of the Warhawks in 2014.

NCAA PLAYOFF HISTORY
Making its 14th NCAA Playoff appearance this season, Wartburg owns an 11-13 all-time record during NCAA postseason competition. Four times, the Knights have reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament (1994, 2008, 2014, 2017).
LAST TIME OUT
Wartburg opened NCAA postseason competition at Hope College in Holland, Mich., last Saturday, Nov. 23. The Knights defeated the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champions 41-3, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Playoffs for the sixth time in program history.
After Hope recorded a field goal on its opening drive, Wartburg scored 41 unanswered points. Noah Dodd totaled four passing touchdowns, three to Brandan Childs, and one rushing. The Knights limited the Flying Dutchmen to 243 yards of total offense and 12 first downs while tallying eight tackles for loss and five sacks.
IN THE POLLS
Wartburg closed out the regular season in the top 25 of the Division III rankings for a 10th consecutive week, finishing ranked No. 17 in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) top 25 rankings and No. 22 in D3football.com's rankings.
TRIO NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT
The 2019 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Football Teams were released Thursday, Nov. 14, with three members of the Wartburg football team selected to the NCAA Division III District 8 team; Luke Grzech, Will Hasken, and Kolin Schulte.
2019 A-R-C CHAMPIONS
Wartburg and Central College were crowned co-champions of the American Rivers Conference in 2019, both with 7-1 conference records. It stands as the third-straight conference title for Wartburg and 17th overall.
11 KNIGHTS EARN ALL-CONFERENCE AWARDS
The American Rivers Conference announced its 2019 All-Conference Football Teams on Tuesday, Nov. 26, with 11 members of the Wartburg football team recognized for their performances during the 2019 regular season. Wartburg collected five First Team and five Second Team selections, along with one named Honorable Mention.
JoJo McNair, Jason Fisher, Antonio Santillan, Kolin Schulte, and Nic Vetter represented the Orange & Black on the First Team, while Eli Barrett, Cedric Dobbins, Ethan Lape, John Patrick, and Noah Dodd earned spots on the Second Team. Hunter Clasen was an Honorable Mention honoree as a return specialist.
WARTBURG
- Wartburg finished the regular season with the top A-R-C scoring offense with an average of 46.5 points per game, along with 67 total touchdowns (4th/NCAA).
- The Knights have totaled 31 rushing touchdowns, and 36 passing touchdowns.
- A collective effort has led the Wartburg ground attack, with Bennett Goettsch and Noah Dodd sharing the team-lead with eight rushing scores each.
- Senior wide receiver Kolin Schulte broke a Wartburg single-season record with his 16th receiving touchdown versus Loras.
- Schulte scored another at Hope College and has recorded a receiving touchdown in all but two games this season. He leads the Knights with 1,035 all-purpose yards, all receiving yards.
- Dodd has registered 25 passing touchdowns and 1,961 yards through the air. An efficient passer, he came into postseason play ranking 12th in Division III with a 68 percent completion percentage (135-of-196).
- Dodd has totaled 12 passing touchdowns in the last three games.
- Defensively, junior defensive back Eli Barrett leads the Knights with 91. tackles. He finished the regular season as the A-R-C leader with 54 solo tackles.
- Sophomore linebacker Antonio Santillan has 88 total tackles and led the A-R-C with five interceptions.
- Senior defensive lineman Jason Fisher is the team-leader with six sacks, finishing as the A-R-C leader.
UW-WHITEWATER
- UWW closed out the regular season with a 9-1 overall record, ranked No. 7 by D3football.com and No. 10 by AFCA.
- The Warhawks advanced to the second round with a 35-10 victory over Midwest Conference champion Monmouth (Ill.) in the first round last Saturday at Perkins Stadium.
- UW-Whitewater's only loss of the season came during the regular season finale, a 27-20 loss versus Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
- UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh shared the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) title with 6-1 records. UW-Oshkosh earned the NCAA automatic qualifying bid, while UWW earned an at-large bid.
- This season's NCAA postseason appearance for UWW is the 16th in program history, 13th in the last 15 years.
- UW-Whitewater is 14-2 in the first round of the playoffs and has won 13 straight opening-round contests dating back to 2005.
- 16 Warhawks earned All-WIAC Honors, while junior defensive lineman Mackenzie Balanganayi was named the WIAC Defensive Player of the Year.
- UWW's Alex Peete and Quinn Meinerz were named D3football.com Preseason All-Americans.
- Peete leads the team in rushing with 829 yards and 12 rushing TD's.
