WAVERLY, Iowa – The Wartburg baseball team (2-9 overall) will host the University of Dubuque Spartans (5-2-1) in a home-opening series starting with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. and followed by a single game on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Parker Ridge (Marion) leads the team in RBIs with seven, followed by junior
Tyler Hovick (Roland) and sophomore
Ethan Hayes (Cedar Falls) with five apiece.
Sophomore outfielder
JoJo McNair (Joliet, Ill.) leads the team in stolen bases with four on his four attempts, while Hovick is second on the squad with two out of two attempts. Junior
Ben Milewski (Lake Villa, Ill.) leads the starting pitchers with a 3.50 ERA, in addition to leading the group in strikeouts with 22.
Dubuque
The Spartans are coming off of an 8-3 victory over Concordia University-Wisconsin on Mar. 15. Jordan Goldstein leads the club in batting average at .455 (min. 20 at bats), followed by Kellen Mitchell at .407. Thomas Kempf is the team leader in RBIs with 10, followed by JJ Valencia and Justin Jensen at eight apiece.
Jordan Nelson leads the pitchers with a 2.08 ERA in 8.2 innings of work. Chase Kueter leads the club in starts (3) and holds a 2.57 ERA with a team-high 26 strikeouts. The Spartans are coached by Paul Wyczawski. He is assisted by Cole Nieto.
