WAVERLY, Iowa – The Wartburg College Knights baseball team (4-10 overall) will hit the road to face the Gustavus Adolphus Golden Gusties (7-3) in doubleheader action beginning Tuesday at 2 p.m. This is the first meeting between the two programs in over seven years.

The Series
The two programs have met 19 times, with Gustavus holding the series advantage at 11-8. The last time the two programs met was on Mar. 18, 2012, where the two teams split a doubleheader. Wartburg won game two of the doubleheader in a 6-1 triumph.
Wartburg
The Orange and Black enter Tuesday's doubleheader on a two-game win streak. Junior infielder
Andrew Walker (Eagan, Minn.) leads the team in batting with a .391 average (min. 20 at bats). Junior outfielder
Tyler Nunemaker (Ely) is second on the squad with a .327 batting average, followed by classmate
Tyler Hovick (Roland) batting .314.
Sophomore infielder
Parker Ridge (Marion) leads the club with eight RBIs, followed by Hovick with seven and Walker with six. Junior pitcher
Ben Milewski (Lake Villa) leads all starting pitchers with a 3.24 ERA, in addition to leading the team in strikeouts with 26. Sophomore pitcher
Dylan Gotto (Peosta) is coming off of his last appearance which saw him throw a career-high nine strikeouts, giving him the second-highest total on the team (24).
Gustavus Adolphus
The Golden Gusties are in the midst of a five game winning streak, dating back to Mar. 7
th. Cole Pengilly leads the team in batting with an average of .452 at the plate, followed by Sam Archer with a .324 and Matt Berkner with a .313 average. Archer is the team leader in RBIs with 12, while Berkner and Brice Panning are tied for second with eight apiece.
Charlie Hutchinson leads the starting pitchers with a 1.59 ERA, followed by Adam Stockwell with a 2.81 ERA. Stockwell leads the group in strikeouts with 22, followed by Christian Johnson with 16. Gustavus is coached by co-head coaches Brad and Jeff Baker. They are assisted by Matthew Lewis, Andrew Woitas and Ryan Meyers.
