WAVERLY, Iowa – The Wartburg College Knights baseball team (6-18 overall, 3-8 A-R-C) will look to end their five-game skid as they welcome in the Luther College Norse (13-11, 6-2) on Tuesday, April 9 for a single game at 6 p.m.

The Series
The two programs are meeting for the third time this season. The last time the two teams met was on April 2, where Luther came away with 10-0 and 7-0 victories in doubleheader action. Wartburg leads the all-time series 84-61. The last Knight victory over the Norse came on April 30, 2018 in a 6-4 affair.

Tyler Hovick (Roland) leads the team in batting with a .308 average (min. 30 at bats) in 65 at bats. Second on the squad in average is freshman

Sophomore outfielder
JoJo McNair (Joliet, Ill.) leads the team in stolen bases with a perfect 13 on 13 attempts. Harris and Nunemaker share a second-place tie by going 3-4 on stolen base attempts. Junior
Ben Milewski (Lake Villa, Ill.) leads the starting pitchers with a 4.26 ERA in a team-high 38 innings pitched., while sophomore
Darren Kilpatrick (Fairfax) is second among the starters with a 4.76 ERA in 34 innings of action.
Luther
The Norse are coming off a split doubleheader against Loras College on Sunday. Leading the team in batting is Kelby Johnson with a .397 average. Trent Athmann is second on the squad with a .378 average, followed by Luke Plunkett with a .367. Owen Vander Linden leads the club with 19 RBIs, with Plunkett in second with 17.
Colin Coffey leads the starting pitchers in ERA with a 1.74 in 41.1 innings of work. Joey Cardamon is second on the squad with a 1.88 ERA, followed by Tyler Boesel at 2.84. The Norse are coached by Bryan Nikkel. He is assisted by Josh Cook and Shane Sellner.
