#8 Volleyball Hits the Road for Pair of Games

WAVERLY, Iowa- The #8 Wartburg Knights hit the road for a two-game road swing starting this weekend. The Knights visit Nebraska Wesleyan on Oct. 2 for a 12 p.m. first serve.

Previewing Nebraska Wesleyan

The Prairie Wolves are slated to celebrate Senior Day when the Knights visit Lincoln, Neb. The Prairie Wolves took Buena Vista to five sets, with all sets being decided by five points or less. Addie Thomas leads the Prairie Wolves with 135 kills this season, while Kennady Klein has recorded 188 digs. Thomas leads the team in services aces with 21.

The Knights and Prairie Wolves have met 31 times as the series stands at 14-16-1 heading into this weekend. The Knights have won the last seven meetings, including a five-set battle this past spring.

With impressive performances last week, Foster and Bildstein earned defensive and offensive players of the week. Foster, who earned the honor for the fourth time this season, tallied 92 digs over five matches. Bildstein, earning the honor the third time, recorded three games with a hitting percent of .526 or higher.

As a team, the Knights lead the nation in digs per set (20.93 per set). The Knights lead the A-R-C in nine additional categories.
 
Wartburg is one of nine unbeaten team in the nation, joining No. 1 in the AVCA, Johns Hopkins.
 
Foster is No. 2 in the nation in total digs with 347, while holding the No. 6 spot in digs per set. Five additional Knights lead the conference in assists per set, blocks per set, hitting percentage, and total blocks. Bildstein leads the conference in hitting percentage at .445 and sits at No. 6 nationally.
 
Last Time in Action
The Knights cruised to a 3-0 victory over the Luther College Norse on Sept. 29 in Waverly. The Knights (18-0, 3-0 A-R-C) posted set scores of 25-7, 25-12, 25-14 over the Norse (2-15, 0-3 A-R-C).
