KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
Brennon Woody has been named a Third Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches, as the organization released its All-America Teams on Thursday, Nov. 11.
Woody is now the eighth student-athlete in program history to be named a United Soccer Coaches All-American. This is the first All-American honor for men's soccer since the 2015 season.
The Grimes, Iowa native had a historic season to end his Wartburg career as he set multiple school records and led the nation in shutouts during the regular season. Woody recorded 13 shutouts this season, which set a Wartburg single-season record as well as pushed him over the career record mark. Woody is also top five all-time among Wartburg goalkeepers in wins and goals against average. The Knights also tied a team record for shutouts this season with 15 total (Record has held since 2004)
In addition to first team All-Region honors and his third career All-Conference honor, Woody was recognized as the American Rivers Conference Defensive MVP this season. He helped lead the Knights to an A-R-C Tournament Championship and their first NCAA Appearance since the 2014 season.
