CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced its weekly honors Monday afternoon, and sophomore middle hitter Anna Sash was named Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Sash showcased her dominance at the net, recording nine total blocks across a pair of Wartburg victories — a sweep over Buena Vista and a four-set win against Grinnell College.

She opened the week with two solo blocks, nine kills, and two service aces against the Beavers, finishing with 13.0 points. Sash followed with another standout performance versus the Pioneers, totaling 16.0 points behind 10 kills, seven blocks (three solo), and a service ace.

With 79 blocks on the season, Sash continues to lead the American Rivers Conference and ranks fourth nationally.

Wartburg hosts a pair of matches this week inside Levick Arena, starting with Simpson (15-4, 3-0 A-R-C) on Friday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m., followed by an 11 a.m., meeting with Central (15-6, 1-1 A-R-C) on Saturday, Oct. 18.
