CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Wartburg senior linebacker
Keenan Tyler has been named the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
The Decorah, Iowa native anchored the Knights' defense in Saturday's 21-7 season-opening victory over Monmouth College, recording a team-high 12 tackles, including seven solo stops. He added one sack and a pass breakup, marking the sixth double-digit tackle game of his career. Tyler's effort helped Wartburg secure its sixth straight win over the Scots at Walston-Hoover Stadium.
This marks Tyler's first career A-R-C Defensive Player of the Week honor.
