CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Wartburg College junior
Aniyah Kelly has been named the American Rivers Conference Women's Wrestler of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Kelly, a Greer, S.C. native, put together an exceptional weekend to help the No. 13 Knights win its first-ever NWCA Division III National Duals Title.
On Friday, Kelly earned a pin against No.3 ranked Zoey Haines to help the Knights cap off a 36-11 against No. 13 Eastern.
On Saturday, Kelly was a key performer for the Knights. She delivered a pivotal 10–0 technical fall against No. 23 Aurora to bring the Knights into striking distance. The Knights narrowly defeated Aurora 23-21. Kelly concluded her weekend with a 4-2 decision against Noa Arnold to help give the Knights a 31-13 Championship victory over No. 16 Simpson.
On the season, Kelly owns 13 victories, including seven tech falls, two pins, and two decisions, while totaling 29 match points. This is Kelly's second career A-R-C Wrestler of the Week Honor – (previous honor being the week of Jan 27, 2025).
Wartburg travels to Mount Vernon, Iowa to dual Cornell College on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 7 PM at the Small Athletic and Wellness Center.
