PELLA, Iowa -- The No. 1-ranked Wartburg men's wrestling team crowned seven individual champions at the Central Under Armour Invitational on Saturday at H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse.

Leading the way in the gold division, Paulo Valdez captured the 125-pound title with a dominant run that included two technical falls before earning the championship by default. Brett Birchman finished runner-up at 125, while Zein Bazzi placed sixth and James Levy added a fourth-place finish – eight Knights competed in the Gold 125 Division. 

At 149 pounds, Anthony Ulaszek claimed the championship with three falls and a finals decision, while Matthew Arias placed fourth and Reese Osborne earned seventh. Hesston Johnson secured first place at 174 with a tech fall, fall, major decision, and a narrow finals victory, and Greyson Gardner was untouchable at 197, recording three falls en route to the title. Dual-sport athlete, Jake Walker, made his season debut finishing second at 285 after advancing to the finals with two falls. Walker took Augsburg's Keegan Kuball into overtime in the championship round.  

Wartburg also delivered in the silver division, beginning at 149 where Riley Brunson won the championship with three falls before a major decision in the finals over teammate Marshall Hanke, who finished second. 

At 165, Syler Zdanczewicz claimed first place with a fall and two major decisions, while Sampson Henson placed fifth. Angel Zamora won the silver title at 174 with two falls and a finals decision over teammate Thayden Root, who earned runner-up honors. Kane Rosario finished second at 184 after reaching the finals.
