Alberhasky Spins One-Hit Gem, Earns A-R-C Pitcher of the Week Honors

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Wartburg College sophomore Emerson Alberhasky has been named the American Rivers Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Alberhasky (Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny Centennial) delivered a dominant performance in the Knights' series-opening victory over Buena Vista University, tossing seven complete innings while allowing just one unearned run on one hit and striking out 10.

The 10-strikeout performance marked the fifth double-digit strikeout game of Alberhasky's career and his third of the season. He currently leads the American Rivers Conference with 74 strikeouts.
Through nine starts this season, Alberhasky owns a 2-3 record with a 3.58 ERA across 50.1 innings pitched.

As a staff, Wartburg held Buena Vista to just 13 hits and four runs over the three-game series, combining for 27 strikeouts and a 0.35 ERA. All three Knights starters recorded outings of seven or more innings.

Alberhasky earns his second career A-R-C Pitcher of the Week honor after previously receiving the award on March 24 of last season. The right-hander now has 148 career strikeouts and has matched his career-high total of 74 this year.

Wartburg travels to Luther for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21 in Decorah, Iowa.
