The Wartburg College baseball team opens postseason play this week in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, aiming for a conference-best 11th American Rivers Conference Tournament title.
The No. 4-seeded Knights (22-14 overall, 13-11 A-R-C) face No. 5 seed Central College (17-21 overall, 12-12 A-R-C) on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium in the opening round.
Wartburg makes its sixth consecutive and 31st all-time tournament appearance, carrying a 67-42 record in A-R-C Tournament play. The program's most recent title came in 2017.
The tournament follows a double-elimination format, with the champion earning the conference's automatic berth to the 2026 NCAA Division III Baseball Championships.

Andrew Gallegos leads the Knights at the plate with a .328/.618 average with a team-best nine homeruns and 33 RBIs through 34 games on the season. At first base, Gallegos posts a .990 fielding percentage.
Jayden Scott tallies a team-high 44 hits on six doubles, three homeruns and two triples to go along with 26 RBIs. Scott has drawn 21 walks through 126 at-bats. Scott has totaled 14 multi-hit games: nine two-hit, four three-hit and one four-hit performance.
Reigning A-R-C Position Player of the Week,
Andrew Robinson, marked a single-season program record in hit-by-pitches with 25 on the year with a team-best .461 on-base percentage. Robinson's record HBP against Dubuque also set a new single-season high for Wartburg (81).
Charlie Krueger rides a 22-game hit streak with a .293/.533 average in the box. Krueger has 27 hits on the year, including seven doubles and five homeruns, while driving in 26 RBIs.
Keegan Schmitt is a perfect 9-for-9 in stolen base attempts this season.
On the mound,
Emerson Alberhasky (3-3) leads the league with 91 strikeouts (No. 6 in Division III) with a 3.32 ERA. Alberhasky has tossed a pair of complete games through 62.1 innings pitched and 11 starts.
