CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa—Thirteen members of the Wartburg football team were named All-Conference, the Iowa Conference office announced today.
Highlighting the contingent are six First-team honorees: seniors Kevin Huss-offensive line (Ashton), Josh VanDenHul-defensive back (North Sioux City, S.D.), Matt Tschetter-defensive line (Milford) and Robby Salmon-punter (Mason City) and juniors Garrett McGrane-defensive back (Fairbank) and Jason Shupp-linebacker (Cedar Rapids).
Salmon, Tschetter, McGrane and VanDenHul are repeat First-time honorees and this marks the fourth career award for VanDenHul who was a multiple selection at defensive back and special teams returner last year.
Juniors Connor Dahlstrom-running back (Eldridge) and Ross Naylor-defensive line (Ankeny) and seniors Levi Helbling-wide receiver (Malvern) and Kyle Huss-offensive line (Ashton) were named Second-team All-IIAC. This was Helbling’s second career honor.
Seniors Dan Stiefel-quarterback (Sterling Heights, Mich.) and Marcus Williams-place kicker (Council Bluffs) and junior Mark Lueschow-linebacker (Cresco) received Honorable Mention honors.
