GRINNELL, Iowa—The Wartburg women’s basketball team defeated non-conference opponent, Grinnell 65-54 Tuesday to move to 3-0 on the season.

Junior Maddie Sadecky (Iowa City) led the team with her 15 points, as she finished a perfect 5-5 from three-point land.

Sophomore Carly Jacobs (Greene) and senior Stephanie Reiter (Buckingham) joined her in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Reiter led the Knights on the glass as she had a team-high six rebounds.

The Pioneers had two players in double-digits as Michelle Briggs had 16 and Megan Huey had 11.

The Orange and Black finished .500 from beyond the arc and .813 from the charity stripe on the night.

Wartburg was ahead 31-24 at halftime and never relinquished its lead in the second half.

The Knights return to action this weekend in UW-LaCrosse’s tournament.
