FULTON, Mo. — Carly Jacobs had 21 points as Wartburg College overcame a flat tire, power outage and Westminster College, 74-61, to end its two-day Missouri road trip Tuesday with a second win.

Jacobs, a senior guard from Allison, was 4-7 from behind the arc for the Knights (3-1) who endured a flat tire on their bus ride en route to the game. After arriving in Fulton to face the defending St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion Blue Jays, the Knights waited another 45 minutes for the contest to start due to a power outage.

Wartburg then spotted Westminster (1-3) an early 6-0 lead, but ran out to a 36-25 halftime advantage and led by as many as 17 in the second half.

Jacobs was 6-13 from the field overall and 5-6 from the line in leading Wartburg for the second night in a row. Sophomore guard Bobbi Burrows from Bondurant was the only other Knight in double digits with 12 points (4-7 from the field; 4-5 from the line).

The Knights shot 50 percent (27-54) for the game, including 33.3 percent (5-15) from long range. Westminster was at 41.6 percent (25-60) for the game, but an anemic 15 percent (3-20) from three.

Wartburg, which had a whopping 31 turnovers Monday night but still beat Fontbonne University, 66-46 win, cut that to 20, while Westminster committed 17. The Knights won the battle of the boards, 39-27.

Wartburg returns to Levick Arena Saturday, Nov. 30, to face the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (1-4).
