WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg women's basketball team (13-9 overall, 6-5 IIAC) fell 67-59 to No. 9 Simpson (21-1, 11-0) Wednesday night.

Three Knights finished in double digits as senior Baileigh O'Brien (Fort Dodge) had a team-high 11 points. Junior Carly Jacobs (Greene) and freshman Kailey Kladivo (Traer) each finished with 10.

Kladivo and senior Cathy Reiter (Buckingham) co-led the team on the glass with six rebounds each.

The Storm took the 26-23 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Orange and Black opened the second frame on a 11-7 run over the first four minutes to knot the game at 33 all.

Simpson answered on a 14-0 run over the next five minutes to regain the lead for good.

Wartburg was able to slice the margin to five with 8:42 remaining and it was a seven-point game wtih 0:17 left.

As a team, the Knights outrebounded the Storm 37-29, including 12 offensive rebounds.

The Orange and Black take to the road Saturday when they face Coe at 2 p.m.
