The Pioneers narrowly fell, 52-50, to Central in their season opener Saturday.

Kayla Morrissey led the team with 15 points, and Alissa Hirsh joined her in double digits with 10 points.

Alex Neckopulos was the team's leading rebounder with 10.

Wartburg
Wartburg started the season 1-0 with its 76-55 win over Monmouth Saturday.

Four Knights finished in double digits, led by 13 from junior Bobbi Burrows (Durant). Freshmen Kristie Sommer (Marion) and Miranda Murphy each had 11, and junior Kailey Kladivo (Traer) had 10.

The Orange and Black led 36-26 at halftime.
