WAVERLY, Iowa--  The Wartburg women's basketball team defeated St. Olaf 73-49 Sunday to start the season 1-0.

Three Knights finished in double digit points as senior Bobbie Burrows (Bondurant) led the team with 17 points, classmate Kailey Kladivo (Traer) had 16 and sophomore Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) had 12.

Burrows was 6-13 from the field which included five from three-point range, which was just one shy of her career best.

The Orange and Black led in all four quarters and were up 46-28 at halftime.

Wartburg held the Oles to a 26.7 percentage from three-point land on the day.

The Knights return to action Saturday when they host Fontbonne at 6 p.m. to conclude the tripleheader of hoops that day.
