Box ScoreMADISON, Wis.-- The Wartburg women's basketball team moved its winning streak to five in the 57-41 win over Edgewood Saturday. The Knights are now 7-1 on the year and the Eagles are now 2-7.
Senior Kailey Kladivo (Traer) recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds and sophomore Miranda Murphy (Alleman) had 11 points. Kladivo now needs 20 points to join the 1,000 career point club.
Edgewood held the lead at 16-12 after the first quarter, but the Orange and Black tied it at 18 all with 7:06 to play in the second quarter. Wartburg then compiled a 8-2 run over the next six minutes to regain the lead which it never relinqushed and led by as many as 23 points in the fourth quarter.
Defensively, the Orange and Black tallied ten blocks in the game, with Kladivo leading the way with three. This tied the single-game record, set against Coe on Feb. 9, 2013.
The Knights conclude their road trip tomorrow against Viterbo.
