Box ScoreLACROSSE, Wis.-- The Wartburg women's basketball team won its sixth-straight game in the 69-47 victory over Viterbo Sunday. The Knights are now 8-1 on the season while the V-Hawks are 2-11.
Two players finished in double digits for the Orange and Black as senior Kailey Kladivo (Traer) had a team-best 19 points and sophomore Miranda Murphy (Alleman) finished with 16. Kladivo now needs one more point to become a member of Wartburg's 1,000 career point club.
Murphy and senior Bobbie Burrows (Bondurant) each had six boards on the day to co-lead the team.
Wartburg led after every quarter. The Knights trailed 5-0 after the first three minutes of the game, but then scored 19 unanswered points over the next seven minutes to gain the lead at 19-5 in the first quarter and never trailed again for the duration of the contest. The Orange and Black built their margin to as many as 24 points in the fourth quarter.
As a team, Wartburg held all of the advantages in the three shooting percentage categories.
The Knights are now off from competition until next Tuesday when they host their annual Holiday Tournament.
