Box ScoreWATERLOO, Iowa-- The No. 13 Wartburg baseball team ended its season with a 33-14 record as it fell 4-1 to Carthage Saturday in the NCAA Tournament.
Carthage took the 1-0 lead in the second on an RBI double. This remained the score until the sixth when junior Tyler Willis (Waverly) had a leadoff single, moved to third on senior Jackson Litterer's (Waverly) single to right field and then scored on sophomore Jake Thumann's (DeWitt) sacrifice fly.
The Red Men regained the lead in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run homerun that just barely stayed fair. They added their final run in the eighth to advance to tomorrow.
Litterer led the team at the plate as he went 2-4.
